It’s that time of year that you are getting ready to be in your pool and enjoy the summer and do your DE Filter cleaning. You will want to make sure your DE filter cleaning is done and that it will be ready to keep that pool clear now that it is being used more. It is important to have it taken fully apart once a year per the manufacturer’s recommendations. This cleaning can be a time consuming process if you have never done it before. Once you have the DE filter open you will want to disassemble, clean and inspect all grids for rips or holes. You will also want to make sure the manifold that holds it together does not have any cracks in it. If any grid is broken you will want to replace it before putting the unit back together. If you do not pay attention to where the grids come out of you can put them together wrong. There is one grid that is a partial one and if it does not go back into its proper location in the manifold the grids will not go back together. Putting broken grids back in will cause DE to go back into the water of the pool. Once that is all complete you close the unit back up and add the proper amount of DE back through the skimmer. You are set for another year.
Of course if this is something you would like to have done for you, we would be happy to help you out.
