Pollen Season Is Here
Hey, folks! As many of you may know personally pollen season has arrived. Not only can it affect you, it can also affect your pool. One of the most popular here in central Florida is oak pollen from our oak trees. It is important to keep the skimmer baskets and pump baskets cleaned out to ensure proper water flow and pool circulation. Keeping your filter clean on a regular basis during this time of year along with brushing the pool walls and floor will help against algae growth. When the pollen does stick to your walls and starts to grow it is typically known as “mustard algae”. If this does occur there are chemical treatments to get it out of the water. The pollen will also try and create a scum line on your tiles. Cleaning your tiles with a tile brush and tile soap once a week will help prevent pollen from sticking to the tiles, keeping them looking nice.
